OHFA Collaborates with Cuyahoga County Organizations to Host Neighborhood Stabilization Program Informational Session

COLUMBUS — The Cuyahoga County Land Reutilization Corporation (CCLRC), Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), The First Suburbs Consortium, Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), Ohio Mortgage Bankers Association (OMBA), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors (CABOR) are collaborating to provide a series of Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) informational sessions for the real estate industry with NSP Homes – Untapped Opportunities for Lenders and Realtors. NSP Homes – Untapped Opportunities is an initiative designed to give the real estate industry a working knowledge of NSP, NSP initiatives in northeast Ohio, and progressive NSP housing and financing opportunities.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 2 at 9:00 A.M. and will be held at the Gemini Center located at 21225 Lorain Road in Fairview Park, OH.

Congress created NSP to help cities, counties and states deal with community problems that are the result of the national mortgage foreclosure crisis. HUD provides money to about 250 local governments (cities and counties) and all 50 states. Generally, the money must be used to buy, fix up, and resell foreclosed and abandoned homes. As long as the funds are used for this redevelopment, the units of government that receive HUD funds decide how to use the funds and what specific redevelopment activities to undertake.
