Homeownership Preservation Foundation
Call 1.888.995.HOPE to speak with a counselor at this nationwide assistance center. Phone lines are open 24 hours a day.- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
The HUD web site offers a list of approved counseling organizations available by state. Visit www.hud.gov/counseling or call 1.800.569.4287 to find the counseling organization nearest you. - Hope for Homeowners
The Hope for Homeowners Program will refinance mortgages for borrowers who are having difficulty making their payments, but can afford a new loan insured by HUD’s Federal Housing Administration (FHA).

Whether it is temporary foster care, a No-Kill shelter, or pet friendly housing options, No Paws Left Behind helps distressed borrowers with relocation options for their pets during the foreclosure process.
Additional Tips
Before you fall behind on your mortgage payments, call your lender and explain your situation. Your lender may be able to offer you a solution.
If you have already missed payments or have received a foreclosure notice, contact a HUD-approved counseling agency and/or seek legal counsel.
